About This Service
Social welfare is the soul of Khurram Welfare Society. While our other programs address specific needs, our welfare initiatives provide a comprehensive safety net for the most vulnerable members of our community.
Our monthly ration distribution is the backbone of this effort. We maintain a registry of families in genuine need — widows with no income, orphaned children, elderly people living alone, and daily-wage workers who have lost their ability to earn. Each month, these families receive a carefully curated ration pack.
Each pack includes 20kg flour, 5kg rice, 3 liters cooking oil, 2kg lentils, 2kg sugar, and 500g tea — enough to sustain a family for a month. During Ramadan, we add dates, snacks, and other items to enhance the experience of the holy month.
Marriage support is another pillar of our welfare work. In Pakistani culture, wedding expenses can be crippling for low-income families. KWS helps by covering costs for hall rental, food preparation, and basic necessities. We've supported over 25 marriages, ensuring that financial hardship doesn't deny anyone the dignity of a proper wedding.
In emergencies — floods, fires, extreme weather, or sudden medical crises — KWS acts as a rapid response force. We mobilize volunteers, collect donations, and distribute relief materials within hours. Our emergency fund ensures we can respond immediately without waiting for external aid.
During Eid celebrations, we distribute new clothes and special food items to children and families who cannot afford them. These seemingly small gestures mean the world to families who would otherwise be left out of communal celebrations.
How It Works
Beneficiary Registration
We identify and register families in genuine need through community surveys and door-to-door assessments.
Monthly Ration Packing
Volunteers assemble ration packs with essential food items, ensuring quality and adequate quantities.
Distribution Events
Organized distribution events ensure every registered family receives their ration with dignity and respect.
Emergency Response
In crises, we rapidly mobilize resources and volunteers to provide immediate relief and ongoing rehabilitation.
Our Impact
Over 300 families receive regular welfare support from KWS. Our monthly ration drives ensure no family in our registry goes hungry. 25+ marriages have been facilitated for families who couldn't afford wedding expenses. Emergency relief has been provided in multiple flood and fire situations.
