About This Service
Every few seconds, someone in Pakistan needs blood. Whether it is a road accident victim, a mother in childbirth, a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, or a child with thalassemia — the need for blood is constant and urgent.
In rural areas, accessing blood when needed is even more challenging. Families often have to travel to distant cities, spend hours searching for donors, and sometimes lose precious time that could mean the difference between life and death.
KWS established its blood donation program to address this critical gap. Our registry includes over 150 voluntary donors categorized by blood type, location, and availability. When a request comes in, we can match and mobilize a donor within hours.
Our quarterly blood drives are community events that serve a dual purpose: they build up blood bank supplies at partner hospitals, and they educate community members about the importance of voluntary donation. Each drive is conducted under medical supervision with proper screening protocols.
We use a WhatsApp-based coordination system that allows hospital staff, patients' families, or community members to request blood urgently. Our coordinators immediately search the registry and contact compatible donors. This system operates 24/7, including holidays.
Every donor receives proper post-donation care including refreshments, rest time, and a certificate of appreciation. We celebrate regular donors publicly to encourage others to join our life-saving network.
How It Works
Donor Registration
Community members register with their blood type, contact info, and availability. Health screening ensures eligibility.
Emergency Request
When blood is needed, the request reaches our coordinators via WhatsApp or phone. Urgency level is assessed immediately.
Donor Matching
Our database is searched for compatible donors in the patient's area. Multiple donors are contacted to ensure availability.
Donation & Follow-up
The donor donates at the hospital or blood bank. We provide post-donation care and update the donor's records.
Our Impact
Our blood donation network has facilitated over 200 emergency donations, directly saving lives. With 150+ registered donors, we can respond to most blood type requests within hours. Our awareness campaigns have normalized voluntary blood donation in the community.
