Clean Water

45+
Hand Pumps

Filtration Plants
500+
Families Served

About This Service

Access to clean drinking water is a basic human right, yet many families in rural Kasur still rely on contaminated sources. Khurram Welfare Society has made clean water one of its top priorities since inception.

We install hand pumps in areas where underground water is safe, and have set up two full-scale water filtration plants to serve communities where the ground water contains harmful levels of arsenic and other contaminants.

Each hand pump costs approximately PKR 55,000 and serves multiple families for years. Our filtration plants provide free, purified water daily to hundreds of residents. We also conduct water quality testing and educate communities about waterborne diseases.

Key Highlights

45+ hand pumps installed across multiple villages
2 community water filtration plants operational
Free water quality testing for rural households
Community education on waterborne disease prevention
Each hand pump serves 5-8 families for 10+ years

About This Service

Education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. KWS believes that every child deserves access to quality education regardless of their family's financial situation.

We provide school supplies including books, uniforms, and stationery to underprivileged students. Our scholarship program helps talented students from low-income families continue their education beyond primary school.

Beyond material support, we organize educational awareness campaigns to encourage families to send their children — especially girls — to school. We also facilitate tutoring programs and after-school learning sessions run by community volunteers.

About This Service

Many families in our community cannot afford basic healthcare. KWS bridges this gap by organizing free medical camps, facilitating hospital referrals, and providing financial assistance for critical treatments.

Our health initiatives include regular medical check-up camps where qualified doctors volunteer their time to examine patients, diagnose conditions, and provide free medications. We focus especially on maternal health, child immunization, and chronic disease management.

We also maintain a network of blood donors who can be contacted in emergencies. Our blood donation drives encourage healthy community members to donate regularly, ensuring a ready supply for those in urgent need.

About This Service

Dark streets are not just inconvenient — they pose real safety risks, especially for women, children, and the elderly. KWS has taken the initiative to light up the streets of Khurram Hithar and surrounding areas.

We have installed over 43 solar and electric street lights across key locations including main roads, school routes, mosque approaches, and residential streets. Each installation is planned with community input to ensure maximum coverage.

Our team also handles regular maintenance and bulb replacements to ensure the lights stay operational year-round. The project has dramatically improved safety and quality of life in areas that were previously pitch dark after sunset.

About This Service

Social welfare is at the heart of everything KWS does. We believe no family should go hungry, and no young person should be denied the dignity of a proper marriage due to financial hardship.

Our monthly ration distribution program provides essential food supplies to the most vulnerable families in our community — widows, orphans, the disabled, and daily-wage laborers who cannot make ends meet. Each ration pack includes flour, rice, oil, lentils, sugar, and tea.

We also support underprivileged families with marriage expenses, including hall arrangements, food, and basic necessities. In times of emergency — floods, fires, or medical crises — KWS mobilizes rapid response to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation support.

Our donor database is categorized by blood type and location, enabling us to quickly connect patients with compatible donors, often within hours of a request. We work closely with local hospitals to identify patients in need.

Through awareness campaigns, we educate the community about the safety and importance of voluntary blood donation. We also provide post-donation care and recognition to encourage repeat donations.

About This Service

The Muqada Work Boxes are a unique initiative by KWS that enables continuous, small-scale community giving. These collection boxes are placed at shops, mosques, and community centers across the village.
